A downloadable game for Windows

Inspired by Endeavor by zillix

You control a dwarf that has fallen from its home in the heavens. You land in a temple, where a voice tells you it can help you if you collect 7 sacred gems to restore its power.

Travel across the magical land of Ajili'me, gathering upgrades, fruit to increase your endurance, and the 7 gems. Meet curious characters that have their fair share of stories to tell about their country. Decide for yourself what path you'll take to return... after all, the fate of the land may very well depend upon your choice. Or maybe you'll find joy in consuming souls instead?

Submitted to 5 game jams:
Nokia Jam - styled to look like a game for the Nokia 3310
Metroidvania Month - it's a metroidvania. There's upgrades such as the jump fruit, endurance fruits, cape etc. that unlock further areas of the game
Untitled Game Jam - this is a demake of the Flash game Endeavor by zillix
4th Wall Broken - it's subtle, but it's there. Try to find the 4th wall breaks ¡)
Platformer Challenge - there are climbable platforms and vines all throughout the world

Install instructions

Just unpack the .zip anywhere and run "endeavor.exe".

On Windows, be aware that anti-virus software as well as Windows Defender will false-positive it as a virus, since it's made with GMS2. The only way to prevent that requires legal identification and lots of money so I'm not doing it. I have no way of proving to you that it's not a virus other than this article: https://help.yoyogames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031016592-What-to-do-if-your-game-is-false-positive-detected-as-a-virus

this totally has zero to do with this game or the original endeavor. but I jsut randomly remembered another (flash?) game in a similar vein, bing a metroidvania/open world platformer thing, where you controlled this kind of scifi robo dog thing, of course had a certain lovedraft like name for their race.
and started out as having amnesia being on a foreign planet but you uncovering truths about others of it's race that had lived there, what calamities they had or had brought upon themselves...

not sure if I should even worry about "spoilering" such an old game that likely noone besides me remembers about anyways...

but yeah, that game.
zero clue about it's potential name, definitely was one of the really good games back on kongregate (when they werent a money hungry sellout company with shit mobile idling games *crusaders of the sh.. tome and such*).
if anyone potentially remebers that game, would be nice to hear it's name again. maybe one can find a file for it, so it can be played in an emulator again.

for anyone wondering:
the original endeavor had at least 2 different endings, maybe more.

3 from what I know. Malor rising you back up, climbing the wall yourself, and using the teleportation by bringing a guy in the underground 10 souls.

i dont know the last one.
one basically helping the guy down there.
one where youz get up there without his help.

didnt know that there was a third one (you cant even get back down after meeting everyone up there again, right?)

now I'm really gonna search for a flash emulator and hopefully find an endeavor swf(?) file so i can replay it

Heard of Flashpoint? Very useful lil thing

yeah, replayed it on there.
sadly flashpoint doesnt have savestates, which would make it perfect, so I'd have to replay the whole game for the other 2 endings.
tried the "kill 10 creatures" ending

ah nevermind, just started replaying, now I remember the thing about killing 10 creatures. already got that ending too back in the days
